Adama is a 2015 French animated drama film directed by Simon Rouby. It tells the story of a young West African boy who sets off across Europe in search of his older brother during the first world war. It premiered at the Annecy International film festival . It has been nominated for several European film awards in various categories.


Boy & The World

Boy & the World (Portuguese: O Menino e o Mundo) is a 2013 Brazilian animated film written and directed by Ale Abreu. It was nominated at the 88th Academy Awards for Best Animated Feature this year. Its a story about a boy Cuca, who lives in a distant world, in a small village in the interior of his mythical country. One day, he sees his father leaving in search of work, embarking on a train towards to an unknown capital. The weeks that follow are of anguish and confusing memories. Until then, one night, a breath of wind breaks into the bedroom window and takes the boy to a distant and magical place.


Mune: Guardian of the Moon

Mune: Guardian of the Moon (French: Mune, le gardien de la lune) is a 2014 French computer-animated adventure fantasy film directed by Benoît Philippon and Alexandre Heboyan. Set it an imaginary world, this poetic tale tells the adventure of a small creature who must recover the Sun that was stolen by his fault.

During its release in France in October, 2015 Mune: Guardian of the Moon was well received by press critics. The main recognised qualities of the film are its aesthetics and its world, the latter considered poetic and original. The movie was nominated for for the Cristal award for Best feature film in the Annecy International Film Festival and has also won the best film award in Tokyo Anime awards.


Shelley's Eye Candy

Shelley Page, head of International Outreach for DreamWorks Animation, returns to the ABAI festival with her popular showcase of some of the best new international short films and TV commercials. In this session she will screen some of her favourite films and commercials discovered at studios, schools and festivals around the world. Among her latest ‘Eye Candy’ selections are the excellent ‘Castle of Sand’ and ‘The Tale of the Fox and the Mouse’ from ESMA Montpellier, the tense and atmospheric ‘Wildfire’ from Gobelins, Paris and the moving short ‘Tsunami’ from The Animation Workshop, Denmark.

The SIGGRAPH Traveling Electronic Theater strives to entertain and amaze, and this year’s show does not disappoint. An internationally recognized jury chose the best work of the year from hundreds of submission to populate the two programs of the Computer Animation Festival: the Daytime Selects, and the Electronic Theater.
