'The Art-Animation-Tech COMPETITION'

in association with ‘Govt. of Karnataka’ and Industry Partners.

What is the Art-Animation-Tech Competition ?

The 'Art-Animation-Tech Competition' is India’s first of its kind Competition challenge where contestants will go through a creative/technical and physical endurance test for up to 30 hours to claim the coveted 'SuperMojo' Title.

This is being supported by some of the top Animation Studios in India along with Support from the Government, ABAI and leading Industry Partners.

This Challenge will have two separate categories – Professional and Students.

Why you should participate ?

ABAI Fest and Summit 2016 is a great platform to exhibit your talent, get noticed and also win exciting prizes. It’s not only about winning, but also about participating, rubbing shoulders with industry professionals and showing a strong effort thus taking a meaningful step in the right direction for growth

How Does It Work and What is the Super-Mojo Title?

Simple. If you feel you have what it takes to be creatively and physically challenged for up to 30 hours, this competition is for you.

The Competition has various Categories in the field of Art, Animation and Technology – see the various category listing below.

All contestants will assemble under a common roof on the given days and compete to create the most compelling art, animation and piece of technology in a controlled setting. Basic supplies will be provided, apart from a provision to get those 40 winks of rest. The theme will be revealed prior to the start of the Challenge.

The Winners take home exciting prizes and will wear the Super-Mojo Title till the next year’s Challenge.

COMPETITION CATEGORIES

JUDGING CRITERIA

  • A panel of experts from the Industry will judge the competition.
  • Click on the respective categories for the judging criteria
  • The decision of the judges is final and no discussion will be entertained over the decision.
  • You will be purely judged based on your skills. Use all the extra time to polish your entry than spending time on things that will not be accounted for your entry.
  • The planning process will also be one of the deciding factors in the judging process.

GUIDELINES

  • To participate in the competition, you must REGISTER and follow all the relevant guidelines outlined here.
  • April 6, 2016 is the last date for registrations. The list of participants shortlisted to participate in the challenge will be announced by April 8th, 2016
  • There will be a nominal registration fee of INR 250 per participant/team, only the shortlisted participants will have to pay this by April 6, 2016. This is only to make sure we are receiving valid and interested entries.
  • All challenges will have two separate categories – Professionals and Students.
  • Students must provide valid ID-Proof.
  • If you are both a student (valid id needed) and working professional, you will be qualified as a Student and we will also require details of your current employment.
  • Guidelines pertaining to Software, Supplies and other Logistics will be shared in the coming days. Keep coming back here for regular updates.
  • For the Character Animation Competition, an exclusive Character Rig will be provided by India’s first and only Online Animation Program Native Puppets
  • Experts from the Industry will judge the entries.
  • No offensive, sexual or derogatory content should be created.
  • Shortlisted Competition Candidates must make their own travel arrangements to the Venue – Hotel Lalit Ashok, Bangalore for the days of the Competition. It is strongly recommended to be in Bangalore a day prior to the event i.e. April 15th, 2016. This will help ensure that you are comfortable and have all queries resolved before the start of the Competition on April 16th, 2016. We are working towards arranging a web meeting with all participants before April 16th, 2016. More details regarding this soon.
  • Since this is a Competition, participants must factor strenuous working conditions and approach the challenge in a healthy manner. Organizers will not be held responsible under any circumstances.
  • To accommodate the Competitors, organizers will provide limited sleeping bags, refreshments.
  • The whole idea of the Competition is to enjoy and celebrate the medium of Animation in a unique and fun way.
  • There will be Industry Experts around the Competition Floor to supervise over-the-shoulder of the participants.

IMPORTANT DATES

  • April 6, 2016 is the last date to register for the Art ans Animation challenges.
  • April 6, 2016 is the last date to register for the Hackathon challenge.
  • April 8, 2016 is the date on which the names of the shortlisted participants will be announced
  • Theme to the Challenge and other specific details pertaining to this category will be revealed just before the start of the Competition. More specific details on this in coming days.
  • It is strongly recommended that outstation participants arrive in Bangalore on April 15th, 2016, to be sure you are comfortable and have all queries resolved before the start of the Competition. We are working towards arranging a web meeting with all participants before April 16th, 2016. More details regarding this soon.
  • The ‘Registration’ for the Challenge will be open till the mid-night of April 6, 2016.
  • Winners will be announced by end of Day 2 of the event – April 17th, 2016

TERMS and CONDITIONS

  • Participants must be 18 years and above.
  • Entry must be made directly by the participants entering the competition by filling up the respective Registration Form.
  • The Organizers will not be responsible in case any Registration has been ‘submitted but NOT received’ – reasons attributed to technical issues or any such reason. No responsibility can be accepted for entries lost or delayed due to technical issues.
  • The prizes are not transferable to another individual and no cash or other alternatives will be offered. If the mentioned prize is not available, an alternative shall be awarded.
  • The Organizers reserves the right to amend or alter the terms of competitions and reject entries from entrants not entering into the spirit of the competition.
  • The winner agrees to the use of his or her name, photograph and will co-operate with any other reasonable requests made by the Organizers of the Competition relating to any post-event publicity.
  • Use of a false name or incorrect details will result in disqualification.
  • Where applicable the decision of the judges is final, based on the criteria set out in the competition, and no negotiation will be entered into over this decision.
  • Competitions rules, guidelines may be modified or withdrawn at any time, as deemed necessary by the organizers.
  • By entering this Contest, entrants agree to release and hold harmless the Organizers of the Competition, Sponsor, Supporters and their respective employees, representatives, from any liability for any loss or damage of any kind to the entrant or any other person in connection with this Contest or participation in any Contest related activities, including but not limited to the use or misuse of a prize or any portion of a prize.
  • The Organizers of the Competition reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to modify, cancel or suspend this Contest should external circumstances arise which are beyond the reasonable control of the Contest Organizer.
  • The Organizers retain the right to refuse or revoke entry to any Competitor, where they believe that accepting the entry could prejudice the event, the promotion of the event, organization of the event, their sponsors, associates or staff.
  • Respective prize sponsors will be responsible for its timely distribution.
